A juicy beef burger layered with Kursat’s South African BBQ Paste and Caramelised Onion. The BBQ Paste is spread generously onto toasted buns for a rich, smoky and savoury kick, while sweet caramelised onion, crisp lettuce and fresh tomato bring balance to every bite.
Ingredients (Serves 2)
2 burger buns
2 beef burger patties, approx. 150g each
3 tbsp Kursat’s South African BBQ Paste
2 tbsp Kursat’s Caramelised Onion
2 lettuce leaves
1 tomato, sliced
2 slices mature cheddar
1 tbsp vegetable oil
Salt & black pepper, to taste
Method
Toast the buns
Slice the burger buns in half and toast the cut sides in a dry frying pan or under a grill until lightly golden and crisp.
Cook the burgers
Season the beef patties with salt and black pepper. Heat the oil in a frying pan or griddle over medium-high heat and cook the burgers until browned and cooked to your liking. Add the cheddar during the final minute of cooking and allow it to melt.
Build the burger
Spread Kursat’s South African BBQ Paste generously over the toasted cut sides of both buns. Place the lettuce and sliced tomato on the bottom bun, followed by the hot burger and melted cheese.
Add the caramelised onion
Spoon Kursat’s Caramelised Onion generously over the burger, then finish with the top bun.
Serve
Serve immediately while the burger is hot and the bun is crisp.
