A simple garlic bread made with softened butter and Kursat’s Pickled Garlic Confit. The pickled garlic adds a deeper, sweeter garlic flavour with a subtle acidity that cuts through the richness of the butter.
Ingredients (Makes 1 loaf)
1 crusty baguette or small ciabatta loaf
50g softened butter
5 cloves Kursat’s Pickled Garlic Confit
1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
Pinch of salt
20g grated Parmesan, optional
Method
Make the garlic butter
Finely chop or mash the Pickled Garlic Confit and mix with the softened butter, parsley and a small pinch of salt.
Prepare the bread
Cut the baguette into slices without cutting completely through the base, or cut into individual slices.
Add the garlic butter
Spread the garlic butter generously between the slices and over the top of the bread.
Bake
Wrap loosely in foil and bake at 190°C for 10 minutes. Open the foil and bake for a further 5–7 minutes until golden and crisp. Add Parmesan for the final few minutes if using.
Serve
Serve warm straight from the oven.
