Ingredients
- 250g long grain rice
- 375ml hot water
- 40g butter
- 1 tbsp Kursat’s Preserved Lemon Paste
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 tsp sugar
- Optional garnish:
Fresh coriander leaves, chopped
Method
1. Place the rice in a bowl and rinse under cold water until the water runs mostly clear.
2. Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
3. Add the drained rice and gently sauté for 1–2 minutes, stirring frequently to coat the grains evenly in butter.
4. Add the salt, sugar and Kursat’s Preserved Lemon Paste. Stir well to evenly distribute.
5. Pour in the hot water and stir once.
6. Bring to a gentle simmer, then cover with a lid and reduce the heat to low. Cook for 15 minutes without lifting the lid.
7. Garnish with fresh coriander if desired.
